كشفت تقارير صحفية أن نادي بورتو يتطلع إلى التعاقد مع لاعب من صفوف ليفربول، نهاية الموسم الحالي.

وحسبما ذكرت شبكة “ليفربول إيكو” الإنجليزية، نقلًا عن تقارير برتغالية، أن بورتو يسعى إلى ضم اللاعب فابيو كارفاليو في موسم الانتقالات الصيفي المقبل.

وعانى لاعب خط الوسط من أجل الحصول على فرص لعب منتظم في ملعب “الأنفيلد”، حيث لم يشارك إلا في 4 مباريات فقط في الدوري الإنجليزي هذا الموسم.

ولم يتواجد كارفاليو ضمن قائمة ليفربول في 4 من آخر 5 مباريات في الدوري، مما أدى إلى انتشار التكهنات حول مستقبله وإمكانية رحيله.

وأوضحت أن بورتو يخطط للظفر بخدمات كارفاليو، حيث أن النادي البرتغالي مهتم بالفعل باللاعب صاحب الـ20 عامًا.

وأشارت إلى أن صفقة انتقال كارفاليو المرتقب إلى بورتو ستكون على سبيل الإعارة قبل ضمه بشكل دائم، مثلما حدث مع لاعب ليفربول السابق ماركو جروييتش.

It is not the same kind of mental strength he will need if he is asked to face Dale Steyn and company at Headingley but James Taylor passed one test of temperament at the first time of asking after trotting down the pavilion steps on Sunday morning.In between walking off at 106 not out on Saturday and attempting to pick up where he had left off he had a lot to be excited about: a first Championship century as a Nottinghamshire batsman, then a phone call telling him he was the man nominated to replace Ravi Bopara in the 13 for the second Test. He would not have slept especially well. Yet there was not a hint of distraction in his approach to the job in hand, which was specifically to bat Sussex out of the game.And inasmuch as he was still batting when Chris Read decided a lead of 349 was enough for his bowlers to be let loose on Sussex for a second time he fulfilled the task. He was 163 not out, having added 57 off 63 balls to his overnight score with no chances offered.How many more chances he will have to score centuries in his Nottinghamshire shirt remains to be seen. Stuart Broad, the county’s last major recruit from Leicestershire, has played in only 11 Championship matches in five seasons since arriving at Trent Bridge, never more than three in one season. If Taylor is as successful as Broad has been since England called on him for the first time he will become a similarly occasional participant. At least Taylor has played 10 times already and, furthermore, as a batsman, he should need fewer rests.Taylor and Voges added 77 to the overnight total in little more than an hour, leaving their partnership unbroken at 148 and heralding a day in which, rarely this summer – apart from when there has been no play at all – no wickets fell. It was not a day without interruption as a band of showers swept through during the afternoon but 70 overs were bowled, at the end of which Nottinghamshire were left to contemplate how they might bowl Sussex out in three sessions, rather than five and a half.Sussex might not be the threat to Nottinghamshire’s title aspirations that Warwickshire clearly are but they have a strong record at Trent Bridge, winning three of their last four first-class matches here, and in Chris Nash and Ed Joyce, who have become a solid opening partnership, two batsmen who have prospered against them individually.Nash finished on 79 from 160 balls. He had scored 57 or higher in seven of his last 10 Championship innings against Nottinghamshire and twice gone on to score a century, including 128 at Hove earlier this season. Joyce, meanwhile, might draw encouragement from recalling that the two highest scores of his career have been against Nottinghamshire – 192 for Middlesex in 2005, 183 for Sussex in 2009.On a pitch that behaved as benignly as it has for Taylor and Michael Lumb on day two, and with no spinner to give the ball a particular rip, they had things largely their own way. Samit Patel is a decent slow left-arm bowler who gives little away but he does not turn the ball hugely.Even Andre Adams, the leading wicket-taker in the country with 52, could not interrupt their progress and Harry Gurney, in particular, took some punishment at the hands of Nash, whose drives were timed superbly and went for seven of Nash’s 14 boundaries.Intriguingly, Nottinghamshire finished the day level on points with Warwickshire, both needing to take 10 wickets on the final day.

Craig Kieswetter continued his superb form with a hard-hitting 103 as Somerset moved off the bottom of Clydesdale Bank 40 Group B with an eight-wicket victory over Durham at Taunton.Fresh from his match-winning 152 in the LV= County Championship success over Warwickshire on Saturday, Kieswetter plundered nine fours and six sixes in his 61-ball innings as Somerset overcame Durham’s 147 with almost half their 40 overs to spare.Gareth Breese top-scored for Durham with 31 not out, while Peter Trego removed three of the top four to finish as Somerset’s most successful bowler with 3 for 26 in six overs.More good news for Somerset was the return to action of former England batsman Marcus Trescothick, three months after he ruptured ankle ligaments while fielding against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.Trescothick made 15 from 17 deliveries before being bowled by Chris Rushworth and, having proved his fitness, now looks set to lead Somerset in Tuesday’s Friends Life t20 quarter-final against Essex at Taunton.Durham, with three wins from their previous six CB40 games, were always struggling once Trego had ripped through the top order. He had Phil Mustard caught behind off the last ball of the first over and Johann Myburgh taken at cover by Jos Buttler in his next.Then, after Craig Meschede had Paul Collingwood caught at cover by Max Waller, Trego struck again when he held a return catch to dismiss Mark Stoneman, which made it 34 for 4. It turned into the Kieswetter show after that as the England one-day international wicketkeeper peppered the boundary boards.Kieswetter hit two sixes off Claydon in the seventh over, the first deposited over extra cover and the second over mid-wicket. He brought up his half-century from 38 balls and required only 20 more to register his hundred.His four remaining sixes were all struck down the ground. The first came off Borthwick’s leg-spin, the next off Collingwood and then the last two were taken from successive Claydon deliveries.Kieswetter’s remarkable innings ended in the 18th over when he holed out to Borthwick on the long-on boundary off Rushworth, which left Nick Compton and Hildreth to complete a comfortable victory.

Cruzeiro e Boca Juniors se enfrentam nesta quarta-feira pela Copa Libertadores da América, às 21h45, na La Bombonera, em duelo válido pelo jogo de ida das quartas de final. O meia da equipe celeste, Lucas Silva, em entrevista ao LANCE!, comentou das dificuldades enfrentadas, mas salientou que o time cruzeirense tem qualidade e pode surpreender na Argentina.

– Expectativa de um grande jogo, contra uma grande equipe, em uma competição tradicional como é a Libertadores. Temos consciência das dificuldades, mas sabemos das nossas qualidades e de que podemos buscar um resultado positivo para depois decidir a vaga no Mineirão – disse.

Os clubes já estão acostumados com este tipo de competição. Segundo o jogador, isso pode aumentar ainda mais a rivalidade entre as equipes na história.

– A rivalidade entre Brasil e Argentina já é muito grande, mas a tradição com certeza ajuda o confronto a se tornar um clássico sul-americano. São duas equipes acostumadas a jogar este tipo de competição e a chegar bem – afirmou.

‘São duas equipes de muita tradição e que estão acostumadas a disputar este tipo de competição’

Sem dar muitos detalhes, o meia declarou que Mano Menezes tende a utilizar o mesmo padrão de jogo para todos confrontos, seja no Brasileirão ou na Libertadores. Entretanto, é algo que fica para o treinador, e que depois é passado para os atletas.

– Ele sempre trabalha com todos no mesmo nível de competição e, geralmente, tem uma ideia de time para cada confronto. Mas é algo que fica mais para ele e com certeza vai armar o que tivermos de melhor – observou.

A equipe Argentina tem jogadores de qualidade, como Carlitos Téves, Pavón, Wilmar Barrios, Fernando Gago, que auxiliam na transição do meio para o ataque. O meia do Cruzeiro ratificou que o time tem que entrar ligado para vencer a partida.

– O Boca tem um time muito forte, de muita qualidade e são extremamente competitivos. Temos que ter cuidado com todos desde o início e fazer uma partida com 100% de concentração nos 90 minutos – afirmou.

Lucas Silva está emprestado do Real Madrid ao Cruzeiro por mais uma temporada. Caso a Raposa vença a Libertadores, o jogador poderá reencontrar os espanhóis no Mundial. Porém, o jogador adotou cautela e não criou expectativa.

– Ainda é muito cedo para pensar nisso. Eles já conseguiram a vaga deles e nós queremos a nossa, mas acima de tudo o título. Mas ainda temos um longo caminho pela frente. Temos de pensar no Boca neste momento. Avançando, pensar no próximo adversário. Temos de ir passo a passo, como temos feito até aqui, pois são adversários muito difíceis e uma competição extremamente equilibrada – finalizou.

Depois do primeiro duelo, os times voltam a se enfrentar no dia 4 de outubro, quinta-feira, às 21h45, no Mineirão. Dependendo do resultado desta quarta-feira, a vaga para próxima fase pode estar encaminhada.

Ravi Bopara batted at No. 8 with a runner in a bid to prove his England fitness as Essex and Kent failed to contrive a positive result

It would have been funny if it had not been so serious for Ravi Bopara, a man with almost-certainly dashed England hopes. He batted today with a runner for just over an hour and a half, ran himself out in classic village green style and did not appear in the field for the fag end of this Division Two stalemate.Although Essex were optimistic about Bopara’s ability to be fit for the first Test against West Indies, starting at Lord’s on Thursday, the evidence of his innings suggested England would be unwise to take the gamble. He suffered a “slight tear” to his right thigh in the field on Friday and though he batted for his team, at No. 8, in pursuit of bonus points, his discomfort was clear.During an over in the morning Essex had four batsmen on the square while Bopara and Alviro Petersen used runners, a rare occurrence for a partnership at first-class level, perhaps in any cricket. Bopara looked far from sprightly when he instinctively moved into a run with a midwicket stroke off Ivan Thomas and pulled up with a ghastly stagger. After some scurried runs seemingly in all directions, and five balls without any real mishap, both batsmen sent off their assistants – though Bopara was publicly persuaded to change his mind by the Essex physio Chris Clarke-Irons. So Greg Smith trotted back on, while Petersen, hobbling on a sore ankle, did his best without Tom Westley.With no sign of declarations or targets, Essex’s innings creaked along, owing just about all momentum to Mark Pettini. The last three wickets fell for no runs when Charlie Shreck picked up two in two and Bopara ran himself out, finally forgetting his runner. Bopara pushed a Mark Davies delivery into the covers and set off for the single, reaching ‘safety’ at the other end along with his runner before realising he should have stayed at the crease. Kent did not spot their opportunity until Shreck screamed at his colleagues to get the ball back to wicketkeeper Geraint Jones, who removed the bails at leisure.Pettini, seeking his first Championship hundred for three seasons, batted exceptionally well, though he struggled to score against the constant probing by Davies, the pick of the Kent attack. Resuming on 61, Pettini cut effectively, concentrated well and look set for his much-needed century when Thomas seamed one back into him to win an lbw shout and the innings tailed off after that.Thomas, 20, impressed as a Championship rookie with more whip in his action than one might think. He has had first-class experience with Leeds-Bradford University this season, including the destruction of a callow Sussex side, when he took 6 for 21 in the second innings in Leeds. A memorable maiden wicket for Kent came courtesy of a flying goalkeeper catch in the covers by Brendon Nash, clinging to a full-blooded cut by Essex’s captain James Foster.Both counties harbour expectations of climbing out of this division, but it was a shame that some sort of arrangement could not be reached. Kent, 131 ahead overnight, might have persuaded Essex to chase something as they held some aces in Davies, Shreck and the England offspinner James Tredwell. Thomas could also have been added to the mix on an easing, but still helpful, Chelmsford strip.With Bopara and Petersen unfit, Essex’s batting looked depleted. “The problem with declaring overnight would have been forfeiting batting points, though as it turned out we didn’t get any,” Foster said. “We weren’t expecting to get only 181; we were hoping to get 350. A chase would have been quite a risk as the ball was nibbling about.”Rob Key felt he lost “a horror” of a toss and was elated that his Kent side had gained a first innings lead after their collapse to 9 for 5, thanks mainly to a superb century by Darren Stevens. As so often in county cricket, the effort of fighting back seemed to inflate the fear of defeat. “It was so wet on the first day and by the end it was so dry,” Key said. “We thought it was going to be hard work trying to set up a game. I felt we would have to throw up so many and we would only have two sessions, if that, to bowl. The pitch didn’t deteriorate enough to make it interesting. Essex would have been able to block out, so that the result was either a win for them or a draw.”
